Skanderbeg Square
2 min walk from storage. Europe's largest pedestrian square. Take in the statue, fountains, and surrounding architecture.
Et'hem Bey Mosque & Clock Tower
Beautiful 18th-century mosque on the square. You can peek inside if modestly dressed. The clock tower next to it offers views (small fee).
The Pyramid (Piramida)
8 min walk. The iconic brutalist structure is being renovated into a tech/culture hub. Walk around, take photos, explore the surroundings.
Coffee Break
Head back toward the square for a Turkish coffee or macchiato at a cafe. Watch the city go by.

5 min walk. Underground bunker museum about secret police and political persecution. Powerful and well-done. Entry ~€5.
Lunch at Pazari i Ri (New Bazaar)
12 min walk. Renovated market area with fresh produce, traditional restaurants, and great atmosphere. Try traditional tavë kosi.
Return via colorful buildings
Walk back through the painted apartment blocks - former Mayor Edi Rama's art project that transformed gray communist buildings.
Street Art & Modern Tirana (3 hours)

Painted Buildings Walk
Start from the square and head toward Blloku. The colorful facades are everywhere - each building tells a story of post-communist renewal.
Blloku District
Once off-limits to ordinary Albanians (communist elite only), now the hippest neighborhood. Murals, cafes, boutiques, and Enver Hoxha's former villa.
Coffee in Blloku
Pick any trendy cafe. This is where young Tirana hangs out. Great people-watching and specialty coffee options.
House of Leaves (Optional)
Former surveillance headquarters, now a museum about spying during communism. Haunting and fascinating. Entry ~€5.
Full Day with Dajti Mountain (6+ hours)
Perfect for: Those with a full day and wanting nature + city
Morning in the Center
Quick coffee and byrek breakfast, then explore Skanderbeg Square and nearby sights.
Head to Dajti Ekspres
Take a taxi or bus to the cable car station (20 min). The cable car ride takes 15 min and offers stunning views. ~€8 round trip.
Dajti Mountain
Walk the trails, enjoy the views over Tirana and the Adriatic. There's a restaurant at the top for lunch with a view.
Return to City
Cable car back down, taxi to Blloku for afternoon coffee and wandering.
