Early Arrival & Late Departure Tips

Make the most of every hour in Tirana, even when timing doesn't match your accommodation

The Traveler's Dilemma

You've just landed in Tirana at 9 AM but your hotel check-in isn't until 2 PM. Or maybe your flight leaves at 11 PM but you had to check out at noon. Sound familiar?

This is one of the most common frustrations for travelers, but it doesn't have to ruin your trip. Here's how to turn those awkward in-between hours into quality exploration time.

Early Morning Arrivals

Arrived Before Check-In? Here's the Plan:

1

Take the LUNA Shuttle to City Center

25 minutes from Tirana Airport, €8 per person. Runs every 30-60 minutes.

2

Drop Your Bags at Luggage Storage

The shuttle stops right next to our location. Walk in, drop bags, walk out in under 5 minutes.

3

Grab Albanian Breakfast

Walk 2 minutes to Skanderbeg Square area. Get fresh byrek (savory pastry) and Turkish coffee.

4

Explore Until Check-In

National Museum, Et'hem Bey Mosque, Blloku neighborhood - all walkable and bag-free!

Pro Tip: Morning Coffee Culture

Albanians take their morning coffee seriously. Skanderbeg Square cafes start filling up around 8 AM. It's the perfect way to feel the pulse of local life before starting your sightseeing.

Late Night Departures

Checked Out But Flight is Tonight? No Problem:

1

Check out of your hotel, bring bags to us. We're open 8 AM - 11 PM daily.

2

Enjoy Your Last Day in Tirana

Practical Tips

Keep Essentials Accessible

Before storing your big bags, grab your phone charger, camera, and water bottle. You don't want to come back for forgotten items.

Download Offline Maps

Tirana is very walkable, but having Google Maps offline helps you navigate neighborhoods like Blloku and find hidden gems.

Cash is King

While many places take cards, small cafes and traditional byrek shops often prefer cash (Albanian Lek). ATMs are everywhere.

Check Shuttle Times

LUNA Airport Shuttle runs on a schedule. Plan to pick up your bags at least 30 minutes before your desired shuttle time.
